JIA K - 5 full-time students have the option of completing the entirety of their coursework at home via an online classroom, with most students choosing to participate in optional in-person, hands-on experiences with their teachers and peers. All curriculum is developed by JIA teachers with all necessary books and offline materials provided.

Teachers work in close partnership with parents to support each student and help them be successful. Students follow a personalized weekly calendar with assignments and activities to complete each school day. Academic support and accelerated learning are provided both in-person and virtually. In addition to digital content and coursework, teachers offer daily live virtual sessions with students and parents.

Students are challenged with a high quality digital curriculum and accompanied by caring teachers who have a tremendous amount of technical experience. JIA offers several school events and field trips throughout the year, building a strong and supportive community. Each full-time elementary student is provided an iPad or Chromebook, along with mobile wifi connectivity, to access courses.  Parents have access and transparency to all lessons and content materials, including workbooks and other offline materials.

On-Campus Opportunities
Optional in-person learning experiences are available 2.5 days per week through Elective Experiences and Core Enrichment programming. Families may choose any or all of the on-campus options. Additionally, students may participate in JPS district opportunities, including performing arts, ACT (accelerated learning), and robotics.

The Parent Connection
A group of JIA parents, The Parent Connection, meet monthly to provide fellow parents with tools and skills to support their JIA students academically, socially, and emotionally.

First Friday Community Days
On the first Friday of most months during the school year, JIA students and families get together for special events. Activities range from Field Day & Market Day to music performances, bowling & sledding outings, and an end-of-the-year ice cream social.

Elementary Optional On-Campus Opportunities

At Home Learning takes place Mondays, Wednesday afternoons, and Fridays. Core Enrichment & Projects takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am - 3:30pm with Elective Experiences taking place on Wednesday mornings from 8:30am - 12:00pm.
