The Thespians of Tomorrow Kids Theatre Camp
High school thespians will lead a series of workshops for elementary students going into 4th grade-7th grade.
Workshops include acting, singing, dancing, improv, costumes, audition prep, makeup, and props.  
After the three day camp, elementary students will display their talents at a showcase.

Camp: June 13th-15th 10am-3pm **check-in begins at 9:15am at the high school auditorium. 
Showcase: June 15th 5:30pm HS auditorium 
Cost: $30 - T-shirt and meals included.

Jenison Robotics
Summer Camp is available for students going into 4th-6th grades. VEX IQ Robotics Day Camp is June 13-16, 2022 at the Jenison Robotics Building, 1889 Baldwin St, Jenison. Cost is $85. Summer camp attendance is limited, registration will open on May 7th at 12:00 pm. Summer camp is limited to the first 50 registrants, make sure you sign up soon as spaces fill up fast.

Ottawa County parks offers Story Walks. Walk along the paths with your family and read the picture books posted on signs and look for things to do. Be sure to check the calendar for dates and parks.

Free Fishing Weekend 
For two days, twice a year, families and friends can enjoy one of Michigan’s premier outdoor activities, Michigan Fishing, for FREE! Free Fishing Weekend dates for summer of 2022 are June 11 & 12. All fishing license fees will be waived for two days. All of the details can be found on this webpage.


Trail Maps

Looking for outdoor fun for your family?: There is a new interactive non-motorized trail map which features 4,600 miles of trails. You can also download free apps – “All Trails” for Apple or Google Play and “GR Walks” for Apple or Google Play.


Splash Pads

Did you know that Jenison is home to two great splash pads? Kids can choose their own “level of wet’ at either Maplewood Park or Rosewood Park Splash pads.

Our local public library has a great variety of activities for youth that can be found on their website.



Draw Club

Draw Club offers drawing classes for Ages 7-16.


Kent District Library LAB Experience (ages 5-10)

TheKDL LAB Experience promotes creativity, problem solving skills and unstructured exploration time for school-age children and teens. Carefully selected learning tools and activities are designed to help students increase their proficiency in STEAM disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Get your questions answered and register at the KDL website.



Play N Learn
What is Play N Learn? It's a free program designed for families with children birth through age five. Infant group is for children birth-24 months. Each session will be based on a children’s book and will include:
  • story 
  • fingerplays 
  • creative art experiences 
  • educational play

Dino & Dragon Stroll

Dino & Dragon Stroll is the ONLY North American tour that lets you walk-thru and get up close to life-like and life-size dinosaurs AND dragons.  This must-see event features the LARGEST creatures touring the country, much larger than any other event of its kind. JPS Aquatics Swimming
Open swim is available every Wednesday night this summer 7-9pm.
Lap Swim
We ask that patrons check every Sunday for the upcoming lap swim schedule for that week. If you want to pay as you go, you can pay the lifeguard on deck. Residents of Jenison School District or those with current School of Choice kids are $3.00 per swim. Non-Residents of Jenison School District are $4.00 per swim. We offer a one month membership and a six month membership for the price of five months. More info can be found on our Aquatics website.

West Michigan Whitecaps Baseball

The Whitecaps play baseball from April to September at the LMCU Ballpark. Check our all the Whitecaps Ticket Promotions, and snag a deal on a fun family outing!



Grand Rapids Public Museum

GRPM has opened a new exhibit, Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs. Student tickets are only $5. Purchase tickets.

Koala’s at the Zoo

Travel “Down Under” at John Ball Zoo! The *new* koala habitat is open. Iluka and Noorundi are two male koalas visiting from San Diego Zoo for the summer. Any Michigan resident who carries a MI Bridges card, including WIC, can attend John Ball Zoo for free with up to 9 free household members through the JUMP program.

Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass

High schoolers can use the gym for free starting May 16 up until August 31. High schoolers can visit PlanetFitness.com/SummerPass to pre-register, and get a reminder to formally sign up when the program officially kicks off on Monday, May 16.


Flick’s Family Film

Flick’s Family Film is currently showing the family hit, Paw Patrol the Movie. Kids under 12 are FREE and everyone else is just $5. See Celebration's website for more info.



Wildcat Festival
The Wildcat Festival will happen on Thursday, September 1, 3:30-7.  It will happen on the practice field in front of the football stadium prior to the first home varsity football game. There will be carnival games, inflatables, prizes, critter barn, and food trucks. Come join the fun on 9/1/22!

Double Up Food Bucks
Use your Bridge or Pandemic EBT at participating Farmers Markets to get tokens to purchase SNAP eligible items. Get an equal amount in FREE Double Up Food Bucks (up to $20/day!) for Michigan grown fruit & vegetables. No registration required! 


Golden Age Passes
Jenison Golden Age passes can be obtained by anyone 60 years or older who reside within the Jenison Public School District. They are free to those who qualify, and are accepted at any home or away OK Conference athletic event.  Please bring your ID to our Administrative office located at 8375 20th Ave or the High School Athletic Office located at 2140 Bauer Rd during business hours.
