STEAM Tech Academy Program Description
Students participating in STEAM Tech Academy in grades 1-6 will attend full time from 8:40am - 3:40pm. Kindergarten students attend Monday/Wednesday/Thursday, with Tuesday/Friday online from home. The school operates on a balanced calendar, which shortens the summer break, but adds regular week-long breaks throughout the school year. We emphasis Project Based Learning, multi-age classrooms, and engineering as core components of our program, along with 1:1 iPads for all students.
Student Application Process
STEP 1: STEAM Tech Academy Application
Before completing the district registration in Step 2, please access the following link, answer the questions as thoroughly as possible.
STEP 2: District Enrollment Registration
Using the link provided, any parent or guardian may complete an enrollment registration electronically.
All children entering either Kindergarten program must be screened prior to placement. To schedule a screening appointment follow the link below or contact Lorri via email at Lgierman@JPSonline.org.
STEP 3: Submitting Additional Documentation
At the time of enrollment, you will need to provide us with the following documents. You can either upload these as part of the online registration process or bring them to the JIA Offices where we can make a photocopy for our records.
Other Required Documentation for Enrollment
- Proof of Residency (photocopy of utility bill, house buy/sell agreement, or rental agreement)
- Photocopy of your Child's Original Birth Certificate*
- Up-to-Date Immunization Record
- Additional Documents if Applicable (Court Orders, Custody Documents, etc.)
*Please Note: The birth certificate must be a certified copy, not the hospital certificate that shows the child's footprints. If you don't have a certified birth certificate, you may order one from the County Clerk's Office in the county where your child was born.
