A Thank You Letter to the Community

May 4, 2016

Dear Parents,

I have been struggling all day to find the right words to use to say Thank You for all that you did to help

educate our community members and encouraging them to vote. I am overwhelmed with the support

that the community demonstrated for our schools at the polls yesterday. As I watched the results roll in

from each precinct last night and saw almost 64% of those who chose to vote supporting our bond

proposal, I was fighting back unexpected tears.

The passage of this bond proposal would not have been possible without your involvement. All of the

work that you did in educating your relatives, friends, and neighbors and getting them to the polls made

all of the difference in the world. I am very appreciative that you were willing to take up the cause and

get involved. Our current and future students are going to be the beneficiaries of our community’s

generous and supportive spirit.

Beefing up our security measures, putting safe buses on the road, and solving the overcrowded

conditions in our elementary buildings is one of our top priorities moving forward. With the successful

passage of this bond proposal, we are prepared to implement a plan to address these identified district

needs. The new revenues raised through this bond proposal will also enable us to continue to provide an

educational program of excellence for all of the children we are privileged to serve through the purchase

of necessary technological tools. Upgrading elementary furniture is high on our list of things to get

taken care of as soon as possible as well. I will do my best to keep you informed as to our progress on all

of the district projects we will be undertaking during the course of the next three years.

I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work in a community that values the education of their

youth. The Jenison Pride of which we speak so often flows through my veins. I can assure you that I will

do everything within my power to insure that we remain committed to meeting the intellectual, social,

emotional, and physical needs of each and every child in our schools. Thank you for choosing Jenison

Public Schools to partner with you in the education of your children. TOGETHER, WE ARE JENISON!
