The Winter Sports Season is upon us which means another round of winter sports media day photos! First up the Jenison Cheer team!

There was so much to celebrate last week at Jenison High School! Members of the school’s admin team visited classrooms across the building to recognize last month’s Winning Wildcats, staff members who were nominated for the new monthly award by their peers. They also announced the winners of the school’s Strut Your Stuffing step challenge, which had 51 staff participants who walked a total 3,129,226 steps. Great work Jenison High School staff!

Congratulations to the Jenison High School E-Sports Smash Bros. team for their victory over Grandville last week! The in-person match took place at the high school media center. The Jenison team won 3-0 and earned a spot in the quarterfinals at Michigan State University this month!

The Jenison Orchestra program's trip to Disney World last week was incredible. The students enjoyed their special workshops with professional musicians on Disney’s Imagination campus. They also performed at Disney Springs. Enjoy our favorite moments of the epic trip!

Dr. Graham stopped by Bursley to share a story with our first graders today. Keep being readers, Team Bursley! 📚✨

Huge shoutout to the Jenison Girls Swim and Dive team for their dedication this season despite not having a home pool! While the JHS Aquatic Center has been renovated, the team has practiced all over West Michigan. And they haven’t missed a beat, capturing a conference championship in the process. They left yesterday for the state meet at Oakland University. Check out photos from this week’s practice and good luck this week, girls swim and dive!

A heartfelt thank you to the Knights of Columbus Council #7487 for their incredible support of JPS Special Education. Your generosity and commitment mean so much to our students and staff. We’re truly grateful!

Last night the seniors took home first in the annual Powder Puff game at the Wildcat Fieldhouse! The team had a relentless pass rush, accurate kicking, and an unstoppable run game to beat the sophomores in the championship game. All proceeds from the game benefited the Your Change Can Change Hunger campaign. Enjoy our favorite moments and go seniors!

It was a historic weekend in Indianapolis for the state champion Jenison Marching Band! Not only did they make the semifinals of the nationals competition, but they finished runner up in their class, a new record for the program. Incredible job this season band, we’re so proud! Pinewood 5th graders in Mrs. U’Ren’s class were locked in this week as they counted the school’s donations for the district’s annual Your Change Can Change Hunger campaign! Each day the students collected the change from each classroom, counted it, and then delivered it to the main office. Way to give back, JPS!

Yesterday Jenison Junior High rolled out a dunk tank to raise money for the Your Change Can Change Hunger campaign! Principals, teachers, and staff were among those dunked. Big thanks to Sammys Party on Wheels for the tank!

It was an intense battle Wednesday afternoon, but the 7th Grade Green Boys Basketball team came away with a big win over Byron Center! The team hit threes left and right in the second half and survived full court presses in much of the fourth quarter. Check out our favorite moments and go Wildcats!

Congratulations to our 30 Jenison student-athletes who were named All-Conference this fall! This impressive group gathered together yesterday morning for a formal photo shoot. Way to go fall athletes!

Big shoutout to the Jenison Girls Swim and Dive team for winning their conference meet over the weekend! The team finished as co-champions in the league with East Grand Rapids. "It was awesome to see this team come out competing from the very beginning," said Jenison Coach Kyle Stumpf, Michigan HS Girls Swim Coach of the Year for 2025. "Each swimmer hit a personal/season best in at least one of their swims. Overall, what an awesome and incredible meet for the Jenison Wildcats!"

Congratulations to the first Wildcat of the Month recipients at Jenison’s Early Childhood Center! The preschool and TK students were called down to the office last week and celebrated for practicing safe behavior all month. They received a certificate and a medal plus got to take photos with their classmates. Great work ECC students!

Congratulations to Jenison Bands for winning their 8th state championship in a row! At Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, the band also took home top honors for general effect, music, visual, auxiliary, and percussion. Big thanks to Jenison High School Teacher Laura Zeichman for these photos and keep the momentum going at nationals, band!

Yesterday an engaged group of Jenison High School students had an awesome, hands-on learning experience at Corewell Health! The career fair showcased many different areas of healthcare, such as Pharmacy, Security Services, Respiratory Therapy, Facilities, Nursing, Clinical Nutrition and so much more. Thank you for the career exploration opportunity Corewell!

The team spirit on Halloween looks AMAZING across JPS! Thanks to our incredible principals for leading with laughter, creativity, and care—not just this month, but all year long. #NationalPrincipalsMonth

This morning we celebrated the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams with a special sendoff to states! Last weekend the boys team won the regional title and the girls team came in second at regionals. During the sendoff, a recent cross country member gave a special motivational speech for both teams, before they walked through a tunnel of cheering students, staff, and parents. Good luck at states, Boys and Girls Cross Country!

This Friday night, the long-standing football rivalry between Jenison and Hudsonville will extend beyond the scoreboard as both communities come together to tackle hunger! The two districts are partnering for a Community Food Drive to benefit Love Your Neighbor, a local nonprofit serving families across the area who are experiencing food insecurity. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Hudsonville High School Stadium and fans from both schools are encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations to the game. Rivals on the field, United at the Table!
