Eighth graders learned from staff and students how they can use these classes to gain college credit or work certification, obtain job skills, and even get opportunities for school trips. Keep up the great work, Jenison High School CTE!

Special shoutout to Rosewood parent Mike Sailsbury for making a big difference today at the school through its WATCH D.O.G.S. program! Dads of Great Students provides positive male role models that serve in schools across the country, including JPS schools. This afternoon we dropped by as Sailsbury played with his 5th grade daughter and her friends on the playground. He also helped students practice math flash cards among many other volunteer duties. Thank you for donating your time to make a positive impact, Mike!

Thanks to a grant from the Jenison Public Education Foundation, 6th grade students at Bursley Elementary had the opportunity to design and paint artwork on new soup bowls! They will be given to local residents in need who are served by God's Kitchen in Grand Rapids.
"We have spent this year emphasizing the importance of making a positive impact in everything we do. Participating in this project allowed us to put that focus into action within our community," 6th Grade Teacher Samantha Anderson said.
