This morning the Jenison Public Education Foundation (JPEF) received a $1,000 community involvement donation from Denver-based Leprino Foods.
Raiza Oquendo, a Leprino Foods employee at its Allendale location and a Jenison Public Schools parent, said she submitted the application to support the foundation because of the positive impact JPS has had on her family.
“My daughter currently attends the district (TK in the ECC), and my son participated in the Spanish Immersion Program at El Puente,” Oquendo wrote in an email to the foundation. “Even though we are a school-of-choice family, we have greatly appreciated the educational opportunities and support the district has provided…Thank you for all that the Foundation does to support Jenison students and schools.”

Trisha Henderson, chair of JPEF, accepted the check from a team of Leprino Foods employees. Then they gathered for a photo opportunity in the lobby of the Jenison Center for the Arts.
She said the foundation is dedicated to enriching learning for every student in our district. It goes beyond what traditional school funding can provide, backing innovative programs and meaningful experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and lifelong success.
