Nearly 18,000 public high schools were ranked, featuring a mix of charter and traditional schools, according to an Aug. 19 press release.
The Best High School ranking is based on the school's performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college. More specifically, the following six factors are used:
College readiness
State assessment proficiency
State assessment performance
Underserved student performance
College curriculum breadth
Graduation rate
Jenison High School received a Top 100 ranking within the state of Michigan.
