Bursley Elementary

Thanks to a local watershed grant, Bursley Elementary students recently completed tree planting around their campus! The school’s student safety group first met with a local arborist in the morning and then planted the trees. Great work Bursley! 🌳🌳🌳

The no-look three pointer … nothing but net! 🏀 Teach Like a Pirate Day, which took place last Thursday, is a special day at Bursley Elementary School where staff members share something they are passionate about with students—anything from basketball, volleyball, crafting, legos, and so many other fun experiences.

The school’s 3rd–6th grade students then get to choose from those sessions hosted by teachers and staff. Members of the Jenison Volleyball program even assisted as well at the volleyball session. 🏐

Great idea Bursley! 💯

Due to the projected weather forecast, we have made the difficult decision to cancel today’s Wildcat Festival.

With thunderstorms in the forecast, anticipated rain impacting facility and ground conditions, and the safety and logistics involved in setting up activities between storms, we simply cannot safely and successfully move forward with the festival as planned.

A huge shoutout and thank you to our Jenison High School Student Council members and staff who have put so much time, energy, and effort into planning this event and working through every possible option to make it happen today. We appreciate you!

We will work with Student Council and our participating vendors to explore another date, if possible, and will share updated information once details are finalized.

At this time, there are no changes or delays to tonight’s football game.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Go Wildcats!

Save the Date… We’re excited to share the annual Wildcat Festival will take place on Thursday, September 3 right before the first home football game! The event, which happens on the baseball fields this year due to construction, runs from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. It will feature food trucks, the Critter Barn, inflatables, games and so much more. Then stay for the football game and watch the team play Forest Hills Northern. Check out some of our favorite photos from the past two years of the festival and see you there!

Last Friday morning our Bursley Elementary first graders had an amazing trip to the John Ball Zoo! It was a perfect spring day and the students explored the zoo in small groups with staff and parent chaperones. They asked plenty of questions and learned so much from the interactive exhibits. Check out the top moments from the special morning!
