Community Partnerships

 

Physical Education

Students may register with the following Community Partners, following completion of enrollment with JIA.  All paperwork and participation must be done through the Community Partner directly.

  • Black Lion Jiu Jitsu: Students may register for weekly classes in Jiu Jitsu.
  • Crusader Martial Arts (Wyoming): Students may register for weekly classes in the Martial Arts.
  • For His Glory Ballet: Students may register for weely ballet classes.
  • For the Kidz Gymnastics: Students may register for weekly classes that include Gymnastics, Cheer, Tumbling, Trampoline, Dance, Taw Kwon Do, and Ninja.
  • Goldfish Swim School: Students, up to the age of 12, may register for weekly swim classes.
  • Grand Rapids Gymnastics: Students may register for weekly classes that include Gymnastics, Cheer, Tumbling, and Aerial Acrobatics & Dance.
  • Greater Grand Rapids YMCA: Students may register for a youth membership and may take one YMCA class at a time through the Fall and Spring semesters.  A variety of sports, leagues, and lessons are available.
  • Gymco: Students may register for weekly classes that include gymnastics, tumbling, ninja, and circus acts.
  • Hearts In Step Dance Company: Students may register for weekly classes that include Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, or Jazz. 
  • Horizon Complex: Students may register for weekly classes that include Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Dance, Cheer, and Ninja Zone.
  • Hornets Soccer Club: Students may compete in soccer with a team comprised of other homeschool students.
  • Kids Unlimited (Jenison): Students may register for weekly classes that include Gymnastics, Tumbling, Martial Arts, Dance, and Cheer.
  • Koinonia Home School Group: Students may register for weekly classes in a Physical Education or Gymnastics class.
  • Lake Michigan Dance Academy: Students may register for weekly classes that include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Young Beginners.
  • Northstar Gymnastics: Students may register for weekly classes that include Gymnastics, Tumbling, and Cheer.
  • PASS Soccer Club: Students may compete in soccer with a team at a highly competitive level (tryout required).
  • R-Athletics: Students may register for weekly classes in areas such as gymnastics, cheerleading, and Ninja Zone.
  • ResLife Home School Program: Students may register for weeekly classes in the area of Physical Education.
  • Soccer Buddies: Students may register for weekly soccer lessons.
  • Turning Pointe Dance Company: Students may register for weekly classes that include Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, or Musical Theatre.  Locations are available in Holland and Hudsonville.
  • West Michigan Fencing Academy: Students may register for weekly classes that introduce fencing.  Classes range from beginner to experienced fencing.
  • West Michigan Heat Homeschool Soccer Club: Students may compete in soccer with a team comprised of other homeschool students.

Music

Students may register with the following Community Partners, following completion of enrollment with JIA.  All paperwork and participation must be done through the Community Partner directly.

  • Grand Rapids Civic Theatre: Students may register for weekly musical theatre classes.
  • Joyful Sounds Music Studio (K-2): Students in grades K-2 may register for the weekly Rhythm Kids class, an exciting music and drumming class where they can explore the world of rhythm through music, instrument play, songs, and games.
  • KANA Music: Students may register for individual lessons or group classes.
  • Koinonia Home School Group: Students may register for weekly classes including Choir, Guitar, and General Music at various age levels.
  • Marshall Music (Grandville): Students may register for weekly individual lessons and may pick from a variety of instruments to study.
  • ResLife Home School Program: Students may register for weekly classes in the area of Music.
  • Trinity North School of Music: Students may register for weekly individual lessons and may pick from a variety of instruments to study.
  • West Michigan Homeschool Fine Arts: Students may register for weekly classes including Band, Orchestra, Color Guard, and Choir.  An audition process is required by the Community Partner.

Art

Students may register with the following Community Partners, following completion of enrollment with JIA.  All paperwork and participation must be done through the Community Partner directly.

  • Art by Era: Students may register for weekly art classes that explore their creativity in a variety of different mediums.
  • Grand Rapids Civic Theatre: Students may register for weekly performance art classes that include Acting, Stage Makeup, Backstage Basics, and more.
  • Homeschool Ancillary Program (HsAP)+ (9-12): High school students may register for a weekly art class where they explore the five major elements of art (texture, shape, color, line, and space).
  • Koinonia Home School Group: Students may register for a weekly art class.  Some options include General Art, Drawing, and Painting.
  • ResLife Home School Program: Students may register for weekly classes in the area of Art.

+The HsAP Community Partner is only available for high school students, taking art courses.

Technology

Students may register with the following Community Partners, following completion of enrollment with JIA.  All paperwork and participation must be done through the Community Partner directly.

  • Century Driving School: Students may register for Driver's Training.  Please note:  This is designed as a full-year class and includes both Segment 1 and Segment 2 of Driver's Training.  Segment 2 will include another drive with the instructor to reinforce what has been learned throughout the year.
