Jenison International Academy is currently accepting applications for second semester enrollment, with classes beginning Monday, January 23, 2017. Applications must be processed by the end of business day on Friday, January 20, 2017.
Select seats are available for grades 1 - 7, while we are accepting enrollment for grades 8, 9, and 10. Enrollment for grades 11 and 12 are closed for the year. Students must reside in one of the following Michigan counties: Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, and Ottawa. Please contact our office for availablity.
To learn more about our program and to see course demonstrations, please plan on attending our open house at the JIA Offices on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. The JIA Offices are located at 7506 Church Court in Jenison, Michigan.
Full Time Enrollment in JIA
Students participating in the program will carry 6 courses each semester, and have the option to take 100% of their courses online or create a schedule combination of online and on-campus courses at Jenison Public Schools, which may also include Tech Center, Co-op, and other eligible programs. Applicants who are entering high school must review the JIA Graduation Requirements prior to beginning Step #1 of the enrollment process.
Student Application Process
STEP 1: Online Preparation
Each applicant must complete the Online Readiness Survey, including the “Application Essay” at the end of the survey. Please allow 10-15 minutes for this process.
STEP 2: Submit Forms & Documentation
By completing the online or paper copy of the Application, applicants are fulfilling the JIA Seat-Time Waiver Application and District-Required Documentation.
In order to be eligible for enrollment at Jenison International Academy, high school students must be less than 20 years old by September 1, 2016, a resident of the State of Michigan, and have the following minimum credit requirements when transferring into each grade level:
10th grade: 5 Semester Credits
11th grade: 10 Semester Credits
12th grade: 16 Semester Credits
Using the link provided, any parent or guardian may complete an enrollment application electronically. It is important to save each page and submit the final application once complete.
Parents or guardians can download, print, and complete the JIA Enrollment paperwork & JPS District Application. Mail, scan or fax all completed paperwork using the contact information provided on the first page.

- Letter of Recommendation (Please see Step 3, below.)
- High School Transcript (if applying for grades 10, 11 or 12)

STEP 3: Student Recommendation
Download and print the Student Recommendation Form for a non-family member to complete and send to JIA offices.
An email will be sent to the parent or guardian email account when a completed application has been received. Upon review and approval, a welcome message and course selection email will be issued to the same address.
