All
students will grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially and will
develop a foundation of knowledge and skills that prepares them for lifelong
learning.
The goal
of the Jenison Public Schools is that all graduates will:

Speaks with confidence and poise using a clear voice and exhibiting
eye contact. Uses appropriate, meaningful vocabulary which is
grammatically correct. The topic is well-focused and includes
supporting details.

The written work shows a clear focus or theme with supporting
details. Exhibits rich, meaningful vocabulary and is grammatically
correct.

Visual works such as artistic productions, fine arts performances,
and visual aids show clear focus or theme with originality, internal
consistency, and the artistic use of media.

Accurately and completely summarizes and explains the meaning
of written, spoken, and visual messages.

Curriculum guides for each curricular area have been developed by
the staff. They guide the instructional program and are subject to
ongoing development.
The district mission
statement, outcomes, and proficiencies were created after the building mission
statements were developed and were based upon those of the buildings. Care
was taken at the district level to ensure that all mission statements, outcomes,
and proficiencies, regardless of the level, complement one another. Each
site thus is working for the same purposes as all others as well as possessing
unique goals which reflect the desires of the School Improvement teams of
each building. |
