Junior High Athletics ~ General Information

JUNIOR HIGH FALL SPORTS INFORMATION

Boys Soccer, Cheer, Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Football, Volleyball

 

Fall Season begins August 22 (exception: football begins August 15)

Football – two 7th grade and two 8th grade teams - 3:00-6:00 PM - Check in through the front doors at the junior high.

Football players should be dressed in shorts, shirts, cleats, and helmets. Water is provided at the practice site; however, athletes are encouraged to bring their own supply as well. A meeting for parents will be held August 15 after practice (approximately 6:00) in the junior high gym. Important information regarding the season will be shared.

Volleyball – two 7th and 8th grade teams (try out sport) - Check in through the front doors at the junior high, then meet in the gym; 8th grade 8:00-10:00 AM, 7th grade 10:15-12:15

Cross Country – 7th and 8th,, boys and girls team - Check in through the front doors at the junior high, then meet outside the cafeteria near the picnic tables at 3:00 PM

Boys Soccer – 7th and 8th grade teams (try out sport) - Check in through the front doors at the junior high, then meet at the soccer field next to the junior high at 3:00 PM

Girls Tennis – one team with 7th and 8th grades combined - Check in through the front doors at the junior high, then meet at the tennis courts at 9:00 AM

Sideline Cheer – 7th and 8th grade teams - Meet in the cafeteria at 3:30 PM

Athletic Policies

Attendance: All athletes must be in attendance for the entire school day in order to practice or participate in scheduled contests. Prearranged absences approved by office personnel (such as medical appointments with a slip from the medical provider) are excused.

Physicals: Any student planning to participate in a sport or athletic event, must have a physical on file before being allowed to tryout or practice

Transportation: Student athletes will be transported to and from all of their athletic events unless otherwise notified. The expectation will be that athletes will travel as a team to and from athletic competitions in Jenison Public School vehicles. Exceptions will be made on a very limited basis.

Family Maximum:                                 $200

Athletic Physicals

All students planning to participate in a sport must have a physical on file before they are allowed to practice or try-out.

The physical form must be dated  after April 15th of the current school year to be valid for athletic participation.

Sports Schedules

Pocket schedules can be obtained from the Junior High or High School Atletic Offices.

Transportation Policy
