Attendance: All athletes must be in attendance for the entire school day in order to practice or compete in scheduled contests. Absences approved by office personnel (such as medical appointments with a slip from the medical provider) are excused.
Physicals: Any student planning to participate in a sport, must have a physical (dated April 15, 2018 or after) on file before being allowed to tryout or practice.
Transportation: Student athletes will be transported to and from all of their athletic events unless otherwise notified. The expectation will be that athletes will travel as a team to and from athletic competitions in Jenison Public School vehicles. Exceptions will be made on a very limited basis.
MHSAA Limited Team Membership Rule: A student can only compete for the school team once the season begins. In all JH/MS sports except football, athletes are allowed to participate in two non-school events during the season. An "event" is one occurring on not more than three consecutive calendar days.

Sign-ups begin in the cafeteria during both lunches and/or in the Guidance/Athletic Office.

Signed physical forms are due.

Oct. 15: 7th & 8th Grade Girls Swim & Dive: 5:30 - 7:00PM (high school pool)
Oct. 15: 7th Grade Boys Basketball 3:00-5:00PM (gym); 8th Boys Basketball 5:00-7:00PM (gym)
Oct. 16: Dance 3:00 - 6:00PM (Kamstra Gym - high school)
Oct. 26: 7th Grade Competitive Cheer 3:30-5:30PM (Connie Street Cheer Gym - bus provided)
8th Grade Competitive Cheer 5:15 - 7:30PM (Connie Street Cheer Gym)
On or before October 29
Pay-to-Participate fee ($50) is due.

Eligibility checks begin and run each Monday until the end of the Winter I Sports Season.
Athletes must be passing all classes in order to compete.

On-Line Pay to Participate
All students planning to participate in a sport must have a physical on file before they are allowed to practice or try-out.

Pocket schedules can be obtained from the Junior High or High School Atletic Offices.
Transportation for junior high and high school athletic events this year will be to and from events except under special circumstances.
